| Project Summary: | |
| The 207th Street Shop, together with its attendant yard, is located in northern Manhattan between 10th Avenue and the Harlem River extending from 207th Street to 215th Street. This 43-acre complex was built between 1928 and 1932 to perform major repairs and heavy maintenance for approximately 2000 passenger cars. Estimated 165 million construction cost to rehabilitate the Shop and Yard is scheduled to start in 2005 and be completed in 2008. Garden State is teaming with URS Greiner. Woodward-Clyde, Systra Consulting, William Nicolas Bodouva, ACCU-Cost, Ysrael Seinuk, PC and Maintenance Design Group. During preliminary design, Garden State performed Topographic and Utility Survey and Mapping for the Shop and the Yard, compiled record information and prepared Composite Utility Plan. Garden State is presently working on Final Design with responsibility for civil design including paving and grading, drainage design, demolition and soil erosion control. Coordination with multidiscipline team members make this project a great challenge. In addition, for the first time, a connection to the 1 and 9 trains will be established on the inside of the terminal building. |
