Port Authority Bayonne Bridge The Bayonne Bridge, completed in 1931, is one of the longest steel arch bridges in the world; the Bridge spans the Kill Van Kull to link Bayonne, New Jersey with the Port Richmond area of Staten Island. Structural deficiencies necessitated remedial measures, including the removal of deteriorated concrete, reinforcing the north abutment (New Jersey side) with a tri-axial post tensioned anchor system, and encasement by new reinforced concrete. The work also included the installation of a cofferdam, dewatering and dredging. Garden State also provided the survey of the prestressed cables and cable stay structure. |
